A local astronomy club built on shared nights under the sky

Moonbeam Astronomy Club is volunteer-led and community-rooted: members bring telescopes, notes, questions, and patience, then learn from one another as the sky changes overhead. We gather to make astronomy approachable—through calm observation, practical guidance, and friendly conversation—so beginners feel welcomed, returning members stay involved, and every meetup offers a clear, grounded way to keep exploring.

How to take part in your first meetup

You don’t need special gear or prior experience. Follow this short checklist, come as you are, and we’ll explore the night sky together.

  1. 1. Check the meetup page details

Review the date, meeting point, and sky conditions so you know what to expect before you head out.

  2. 2. Dress for the weather and darkness

Bring layers, comfortable shoes, and a small red-light flashlight if you have one to preserve night vision.

  3. 3. Bring simple observing notes

A small notebook or phone note is enough to record what you notice, questions you have, and objects you want to revisit.

  4. 4. Come with curiosity, not expertise

Questions are always welcome, and members are happy to guide first-time visitors through the sky at a relaxed pace.
